I'm pleased to offer this very short-term special offer to first time customers only! Take 10% of the price of a piano tuning when you book before December 15.
Did you know that Fall is the time of year when every piano in Colorado goes out of tune? It's when we transition from our moist, rainy summer air (50-60% Relative Humidity) to our very, very dry winter air (typically 10-15% RH indoors).
Here's what's happening inside your piano during Autumn: As the air dries (your skin can tell you when this is happening!) the Wood Moisture Content (WMC) in your piano drops in half, and all the wood shrinks. Your piano goes from about 10% WMC all the way down to 5%! This causes the soundboard to substantially shrink away from the strings. The strings then loosen, and your piano goes flat. What you'll notice is that the middle two to three octaves (the ones you use the most!) go flat (but the bass and treble octaves move little in comparison), causing the piano to be not just flat, but dreadfully out of tune with itself!
So, if you've been wondering why your piano sounds sour, that's why!
Call now or email me for a tuning so that you can enjoy playing an in-tune piano through the winter! Ph: 303-641-8863
